D.I.Y. #1

Well as I promised, I will be posting how I made some of my clothes in this section. Don't get too excited though. I don't really make my clothes every time. So posts here will be very limited. Sorry.
But enough of the chit chat.
So last week, I was going to attend a friends birthday party... And shockingly, I haven't got any clue on what I was going to wear that time. When I was going through my closet, the only thing that I found appropriate for the occasion was a plain Zara Gray shirt. Well that is because the theme for the party was "relaxed"...and my clothes are no way suited for that theme. Ha-ha!
So at first, I was like, "Okay you can pull this look off. Wear some harem pants, a cap and your all-mighty Chucks with it then you're set to go". BUT, a day before my friend's party, I wanted to wear something else instead. The down side is, I don't have time to go to the mall and grab something (considering I only shop at Greenbelt and Rockwell).
And so, the creative side of KYLE SY kicked in again. I remember when I was in Zara Greenbelt a few months ago, I saw a faded blue shirt with studs on the shoulder. I so wanted to get that that time. However, upon much thought, the fabric used to make the shirt was not something I'm comfortable with. It's the kind of fabric that sticks to your body when you sweat. And I'm not a fan of that fabric AT ALL. So, with a broken heart, I left the store without buying it.
But no regrets though, cause at least, I had the chance to make my own studded shirt. Here's how I made mine:

1. Lay your shirt on a flat surface and make sure everything is in place.

2. Measure your desired length for the bottom part of the shirt. Then leave a mark on it.

3. Cut the front part of the shirt. Leave the back part to retain the original length of it. (It gives the shirt a more edgy look.)

4. Buy some inexpensive clip-on studs. Individually place them on the shoulder part of the shirt. Well you can place them anywhere you like actually. But I chose mine to be placed on the shoulders.

5. Add more studs on the bottom part of the shirt to give it that extra something.

Then, after much anticipation, here it is!

The down side to this is that you have to remove the studs every time you're gonna have it washed. Well, the price you pay for fashion. Ha-Ha!
I will post here soon how the actual shirt looks like when worn properly.
I hope you guys liked my first ever D.I.Y. post! Don't forget to follow me here and on Twitter!

K.Sy

KYLISM + WRITINGS ON MY HEART #1

So here I go again with merging two separate sections into one. I just feel like I needed to tell you guys so many things to really get to know me more. Although that's not necessary, I just feel like I needed to. I want my viewers to get to know the writer behind this blog.

I am more than just clothes and music. Deep inside lies a brain that never stops thinking. Well, there are those certain moments that it does, but hey, No Regrets, Just Lessons Learned.

So yes, I'm still studying. BUT, I stopped for this semester. My dad thinks that I really need to get my mind straightened out in order for me to move forward. And I do believe that it is true. I really needed this time off to think about what I'm going to become in the next 5 or 10 years. I am a culinary student from Enderun Colleges. But before that, I was already in my 2nd year in San Beda for the course Marketing and Corporate communications. However, I transferred because cooking is really what I love to do. BUT, I am not so sure if that's what I want to do for the rest of my life. I don't want to slave over a hot stove every single day. That's probably the reason why I second-guessed myself for a moment. Maybe, I just want to be the person behind closed doors. The one who's managing something instead. Why not? Managing things successfully runs in my blood anyways.

So for the next semester, I am going to finish my first course. However, the school is still vague. I still don't know where I want to finish it. All I know is that I don't want to go back to San Beda anymore. I've been there and as much as possible, I don't want to go back. After 2 years, who knows, I might take up fashion design. I want KYLE SY to be a brand name. A name people would come to love and recognize. And in that span of time, if things will be successful and if God permits, you will all be shouting my name and buying my clothes. LOL.

Right now, I'm not doing anything really productive. That's why I wanted to write for a fashion magazine or be a stylist for the mean time. Who knows, it might jump-start my career in fashion. I'm just really keeping my fingers crossed until that time comes. Much love guys!

K.Sy

WALK THE WALK + KYLISM #3

Sorry once AGAIN for the delayed post. When I said I was feeling a lot better before...I lied.
Still feeling very nauseous. All I can really do is to lie down and wait for things to just get better for me. However, with the constant wake up call I get to drive my brother to school by 6:30am, recouping for lost energy is something really hard for me to achieve. My body is (finally I'm admitting it) breaking down and I don't know how much I can keep up with this.
Anyway, so I've been keeping this picture since last week. I don't really want to post another picture of me unless I know I have some other pictures that are saved in my archive for emergency purposes. I really don't want to leave things hanging here. So since I have a new picture to save for another day, I'm going to post here now what I was wearing last week when we went to Duty Free to shop with my mom. And again like my second picture here, my mom also took this picture. Twas taken in my favorite lane from Duty Free's grocery department:

Gray Blazer - Zara
Plain White V-Neck Shirt -Zara
Skinny Jeans - Topman
Shoes - Zara

Accessories:
Watch - (Vintage) Charles Jourdan
Necklace - Philosophy

FYI- I so hate my hair here. Twas a really bad hair-day for me. But yeah, I have no choice but to just try to pull it off.

In addition, the reason why I had my picture taken here was because I really drink Silk's Soy Milk. And I drink it everyday. One in the morning and one at night. AND like most of you, I too am lactose-intolerant, so what I do is add 2 tablespoons of chocolate powder (Cadbury Original Drinking Chocolate) so I won't really taste the milk. It a really good source of protein and calcium! So drink up!

After shopping at Duty Free, we went to Max's restaurant to have the unlimited chicken. I ate four pieces - which is equivalent to a whole chicken. And...I died. Literally, whenever I burp, it smells like the same chicken smell that came in my mouth when I ate it. Ha-ha! Disgusting? I know.

STILETTOS and HEELS #2

Sorry for the delayed post guys. Been feeling under the weather lately. But now, I'm back and alive!
Introducing my newest post for Stilettos and Heels!
Amongst all the ladies that I know, this girl might have the biggest collection of clothes aside from my mom. Ha-Ha!
Her closet is filled with designer clothes for you to drool at. Well, of course you have to clean that up afterwards. But no kidding aside, she usually saves up her food money to buy clothes and shoes. Wise right? We should all do that! No food...Just clothes. I am talking about:

Erica Gono
"The person who said money can't buy happiness prolly didn't know where to shop."

Wool Jacket - Zara
Black Cashmere Sweater - Prada
Leggings - Zara
Ballet Flats - Chanel
Bonnet with Feathers - Zara
Aviator Shades - Ray Ban
Handcarry - Longchamp
Luggage - Paul and Joe

And oh, this picture was taken in Japan. During their Christmas trip last year.

Money Can Buy You... #4

Hello dear viewers! Sorry for the delayed post today. I've been busy sketching some clothes and pants that I want to produce. Will post some of the sketches in a jiffy.
Well cheers to another Money Can Buy You... post and I am very thrilled to tell you that this one I'll be sharing to you was sent to me via loveforfashionandmusic@yahoo.com!
It was sent to me by Micah Lee; And she wanted to share to us what her parents bought her from Canada! Here's what she wrote:
"My dad got it from Canada, for around Php 18,000. It's made from PVC Fabric. :) It has 12 card holders, a coin compartment and a pocket in the front as well, with a heart emblem at the front. The photos are attached. :p"

What can you say guys?
I personally adore PVC bags and wallets. I just think it's so much easier to maintain and clean. Any dirt that comes in contact with it can be removed and wiped off easily.
Thanks Micah for sharing to us your lovely wallet!

BEATBOX: Rihanna's official music video for TE AMO!

Yesterday when I posted the video for Katy Perry's California Gurls, I really wanted to post this along with it. BUT, after much thought, I felt the video needed a solo appearance in my blog. Thus, I decided to post Rihanna's video for Te Amo separately. I've stumbled upon this video a few days back. But I really didn't have the time to post it. I have so many things that I wanted to post but I can't. I want to keep up with my standards to only post 2 articles every day. Ha-ha! WHY? Cause I don't want the feeling of not having anything to post for you guys. So it's best for me to keep some things locked up and release it when needed. And because I can't keep this to myself anymore, now is the right time for me to share to you my dear viewers the official video for Rihanna's newest single Te Amo:

I have to admit, even before her cd has been released, I already have this song in my iPod. Thanks to a YouTube subscriber for leaking it. The first time I heard it, I immediately loved the song. I felt like there was a deep meaning to the song that I have to decipher in order for me to really "get" it. I was like, why is she singing the song in a second-person's base? She was like "Te amo, te amo, SHE said to me. I hear the pain in HER voice..." Then I said "Shouldn't this be a guy's song? Maybe like for Chris Brown?" Or like "Maybe she's singing it like she was telling a story. A story of the girl begging for love." Then I sticked to my second guess. Then when the video was released, I never thought of the fact that maybe it was for two girls who are in love. Well one of them is. Plus, I have to admit that this video was very risky for Rihanna. But what the heck, she's so hot anyways. She can pull off anything. Also, the video reminded me of Lady Gaga's video for Paparazzi when she was kissing the girl. Maybe art is really present in the music world now a days. They don't just stick to the "norm" anymore... they try to communicate and reach out to different types of viewers. Which is a good thing.

And did you see how fashionable they both were? Leather and boots baby! Animal prints and shoulder pads! Crazy styling! Who ever styled them, props to you guys! Sexy, chic and edgy. BRAVO!

BEATBOX: California Gurls Official Video!

Finally, the video for Katy Perry's California Gurls has officially been released. If you've been an avid viewer of my site, I posted the 30 second teaser for her upcoming video for California Gurls before. Now, I am so happy to share to you the complete and official video for her summer smash hit single:
(Sorry for the video quality. It was the best I could find.)

The video instantly reminded me of Fergie's video for Fergalicious. The candy coated set-up. The candy canes and lollipops.
I personally am not very pleased with the video. I really do think that the single deserves more than that. PLUS, summer is all about the beach and having drinks here and there. How come she's in a candy-land rather than being in a beach and wearing a bikini? Instead, she wore an exploding cupcake bra! The video was not appropriate for the song. BUT, it was cute and fun though. It was just not appropriate for such a successful summer song. What do you guys think?

WALK THE WALK + KYLISM #2

"Walk, walk, fashion baby!"
Twas my first day in flaunting my new haircut. My brother calls me Tim Yap now and I always crack up everytime he calles me that.
"Tim Yap, get out of the way." "Tim yap, pass me the salt." Freaking funny! Ha-ha!
So as I said in my earlier post, my mom visited from the province. And her visiting means shopping time for me!
As early as 10am we were already in GreenBelt. Strolled around GreenBelt 4 first. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, you name it. After that, we went to GreenBelt 5 to eat lunch. Mom requested for Japanese food AGAIN. So I was left with no choice but to eat at John and Yoko. No choice because I really hate John and Yoko. The food is superb as always, but the service of the staff is far from being good. Aside from being inattentive, it takes them almost 30 minutes to give the bill! It happened to me twice already and I really do hope it won't ever happen again. Well maybe because I won't eat there ever again! Ha-ha!
Anyway, enough for the food part, here is what I was wearing:

Denim Vest - Zara
Low neck white shirt - DIY (I bought tons of inexpensive white shirts, then measured my desired length for the neck part, then used house scissors to cut the excess. The edges will crumple a bit so don't worry. I find it nice actually. It gives it the rugged and worn out look that I want.) If you're not sure what to do, comment on this post so I can teach you how I made mine step by step. :)
Black Harem Skinnies - Zara
Shoes - Converse Chuck Taylor

Accessories:
Aviator Shades - Ray Ban
Watch - Guess
Black rubber bracelets - Topman
Rings - Aldo Accessories

(The white necklace? Nah, that was my headset. Ha-ha! Not a bling at all!)

As we all know, denim is so back! That is why I am buying tons of denim jackets now. Embrace the denim couture! Ha-ha!

Tip: When buying clothes, don't look at the price alone. You have to check and see the materials used as well. It's not always about how much it costs; you also have to think of the longevity of the product. The more you can wear it, the more it's practical. You always get what you pay for. Remember that.

Money Can Buy You... #3

Back to reality guys! And back to blogging for me as well!
I am going to post here one of my very "personal" item. Why? Cause it's f*cking personalized that's why! Ha-ha!
I got this May 2009 for only 2,500 php. But right now, I don't know how much they're selling it anymore. Plus if the color is still available. Anyhow, This red Louis Vuitton Personalized Name Tag is really very exquisite! It adds a twist to regular bags. I am going to post my bag with this one for you guys soon!

Louis Vuitton only allows 3 letters to be punched into their name tags. But because I know them, the girls there were kind enough to make mine 4. That's why my whole name is there. :)

Oh, Happy Father's day to all the fathers out there!

WALK THE WALK + KYLISM #1

This is the first ever post that I am going to merge two sections from the blogsite!
WALK THE WALK + KYLISM.
So today, my mom visited me. And that was a surprise FYI. Then we went out to go to the salon. So we went to our usual salon Piandré. Then we had dinner at Melo's. But for a change, we went to Piandré at the back of ABS-CBN. My stylist was Jerome. At first I was so scared to have my hair done. I don't really get my haircut just anywhere and with just anyone. Ha-ha! We all don't want to be seen with a horrendous haircut EVER. But yeah so the only solution I had was to be very hands on with my haircut. So I was guiding him through the whole process. And the final cut was beyond my expectations (Sorry for the oily face ha-ha!):

As you can see, it was a very laid back thursday for me. As you can see by my clothes. After all, we we're just going to get a haircut anyways.
Here's what I was wearing:

T-shirt - Topman
3/4 Harem Skinnies - Philosophy
Belt - Topman

Loafer Shoes - Zara

Accessories:
Watch - Tudor
Black rubber bracelets - Topman
Rings - Aldo Accessories

After getting our haircut, we went to Melo's to eat dinner. Here's what's on the menu:

T-bone steak (Medium rare) for my big brother.

Grilled Norwegian Salmon with capers for my younger brother.

Then me and my mom had Grilled Spareribs and Garden Salad each.

All in all, twas a very fun night. More than I expected actually. Smile dear viewers! :)

WRITINGS ON MY HEART #2

Hey guys, I'm back!
So yes, as I said in my earlier post, I will no longer post personal lyrics here. I'm terribly sorry for that.
But for today, I want to share to you a message that I received from a friend. I won't say her name anymore. But I just wanted to share to you the beautiful message:

"kyyyyle... :( :( i. am. so...... saaaad... :(( i. am. sooo. darn sad. because! because!! i didn't know... you're no longer in enderun! i didn't know.. i am sooo stupid and clueless. i'm sooo... heartbroken, i wanna cry. :(((( i wanted to see you sooo badly, coz like, i... DAMN IT! that's it! listen... i'm sorry for being such a dick and for being such a coward before. i never get to tell how much i adore and admire you.. (you prolly knew all along anyways) but! for me, you're like the most beautiful and amazing person i've ever met! i swear to God, kyle sy, you are like no other! words can't even describe you! you're amazing, hands down. you're beautiful! and your sweet... damn, you're perfect! the way you talk, the way you walk, the way you sit and dance and sing and smoke and even the way you imitate lady gaga! omg, i sound like a stalker... but anyways, sigh.. my cowardice and fear took over me that's why i never really get to talk to you. and now i have sooo many regrets now that you're somewhere else. i'm so stupid. well, i can't help it! it's because you're too damn gorgeous that i can't even look at you straight in the eye! if i would, i'd prolly melt. c'mon, like hello!? global warming!? you're the very reason why this world is getting hotter and hotter dammit! oh kyle, don't ever change for anybody else coz... you're perfect just the way you are... you're unique. you're beautiful :) haha, atleast i finally got the courage to say that... damn, i really wanted to know you a whole lot better. and i thought i'd get that chance this sem, but dang.. talk abt bad timing! oh well, my fault anyways for not approaching you. i mean, i may not know you that much compared to the others. and i did get to hang out with you before, just for a few days but... along those few days, i get to see how beautiful and sweet you are, how cute and funny you are, how caring and loving you are. i mean, life is sooo0o darn boring with out you. you're like, the life of the party! you make things more intresting and fun. and i know deep inside you're a good person. you're always there when your friends need you. and you'd even protect them and make them happy. i mean, i too feel... so safe and secure, like somehow my days are complete just by seeing and being with you or like, when you smile. DAMN! you're smile.... damn... O_O it lights up this whole world, oh wait, the whole universe! i really look up to you. and... i'd never forget the way you used to hold my kipling bag for me, and when you comforted me (bec you thought i was sad but actually i was just hungry), and when you ate with me in inasal and shabu shabu and when you held my hand coz you called me fat, and when we used to sing in karaoke bars! and you're sooo funny when you get all dramatic and when you like change your voice! ahaha! you're voice is sooo cute! i mean, AH! i even remember the days when you wave at me or when you say hi and then you flash me that gorgeous smile! you're soooo kind and honest and so true to yourself. you're not afraid to show who you really are, you don't care what other people think.. you're confident! that's prolly the reason why you shine so much. you're simply amazing :)... i like your attitude! i mean, i like you :) damn. ughhhh... i'm such a dicccckkkk... :/ but sigh. FINALLY.. i get to say it. say everything. kyle, you're perfect, you're beautiful and lovable just the way you are. :) :) :) don't ever change. and nevermind the haters, just mind the lovers. i mean, everybody loves you! i can't even imagine someone hating you... haha! ...........well... i'm out of breath now... i dunno what to say anymore... well... hope to see you sometime... ish... take care... and umm.. :) stay happy and keep on smiling. :)"

When I got the message, I was so speechless and shocked. I never really thought that I would touch her life in such a way. All I can really say was thank you over and over again. I was even teary-eyed. You can really feel the sincerity in it that I was just lost for words. I really needed this in order to move forward with what I'm going to do with my life next. And to YOU, thank you again! Thanks for making me feel loved and cared for. Smile with me viewers! :)

WRITINGS ON MY HEART #1

So this is it, my first post is for the one who inspired me to add this section to my ever-growing blogsite.
I wrote this song for her when we called it quits because everything between us wasn't going smoothly anymore. I never mentioned this to her, but I think this is the right time to share this to everyone.
Up to now, every time that I read this, I can still feel the emptiness inside of me. After all, I told her that she gave me my heart back. And when she left, she took away my heart with her. No grudges hold, we are still friends. I wouldn't lie, every now and then, whenever I read her posts in FaceBook, especially when it comes to her "crushes", I still get affected. Ha-ha! I know, move on KYLE!
Every time my friends asks me for love advices, they always tell me I'm the best in giving them one, but when it comes to myself, I'm a weakling. Anyway, here is the song I made for her:

TELL ME HOW
Written by Kyle Sy

I'M SO SORRY BUT I HAVE TO REMOVE MY LYRICS. So people cannot copy it if ever. :)

NOTICE! #3

I am so happy to announce that one more section will be added to my BLOGa-fantasy!
"WRITINGS ON MY HEART"
Where I am going to post love notes, poems and lyrics.
YES, lyrics.
My first post in this section will be posted later. :)

KYLISM: Let's turn back time!

So during the start of classes last year, I visited Piandré salon, Del Monte branch. Ahbie has been my stylist for over 2 years already. And no doubt, me and him (yes, it's a him) always experiment when it comes to my hair style. From short, to pixie, to semi-bald, yes you name it, I've done it.

It was a very boring afternoon, and I wanted to get a haircut fitted for the summer season. There I was sitting on their leather chairs waiting for him. Then, when he was approaching I was about to say that I wanted my hair to be semi-bald again when he shouted "Kyle, let's dye your hair ash-grey/blonde." My eyes popped wide-open. Ha-ha! It took me probably about a minute to react. Then, I don't even know why, but I said yes!

It took us almost 2 hours to finish everything. Then, the finish product:

At that time, Adam Lambert was on repeat mode in my iPod, thus explains the next picture:

No kidding aside, I really did love my look. I even got my drivers license with that hair color. Thats how much I loved it. But of course, it's all in the past right now. As I say it, the look was: Back when BLACK was BLONDE, colored iris's were "in" and black nails won't hurt.

Money Can Buy You... #2

As I shared to you Lady Gaga's video for Alejandro, I can't help but to wonder what brand is the jacket the soldiers were wearing towards the end of the video... Alas! Thanks to Gagadaily.com/fashion, I finally know where they got it! The House of Armani collaborated with Lady Gaga again for this masterpiece. Emporio Armani Men's designed and produced the outfit for Ms. Gaga's dancers. Here is the sketch:

In addition to that, the suit will be available at Emporio Armani stores next season! Price is still unknown for the said masterpiece. Oh Visa, please don't let me down! :))

BEATBOX: Christina Aguilera - Bionic (Album Review)

After four years, Christina Aguilera is back with her newest album called "Bionic". The album was released June 8th in the United States, and June 2010 worldwide.

"I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective. I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don't think anyone will expect."- And to that, we really are shocked with the outcome. And oh, thank you to Wikipedia for some of the information. Ha-ha!

The album had mixed reviews. Some liked it, and some simply don't. Her first record that was released from the album "Bionic" was "Not Myself Tonight" - cut number two from her said album. It was released April 13th and has achieved a moderate amount of success in the charts worldwide. Personally, I really love the song! I mean come on, 5 minutes on the treadmill, then you suddenly hear this song, no way are you just going to walk...you will definitely run because of the upbeat sound it has.

The album includes 18 tracks and by far, I have 6 of her songs from this album in my iPod (which I am seriously loving). Namely: Bionic, Not Myself Tonight, Stronger Than Ever, Prima Donna and WooHoo Feat. Nicki Minaj.

And live performances from the Diva is still up to par. Proof? Here, Christina Aguilera performing her single "Not Myself Tonight" at Oprah. Enjoy guys!

Money Can Buy You... #1

Well this is it folks! This is my first ever "Money Can Buy You..." post. And there's no other way to start my conquest than to share to you one of my favorite wallets. I bought this summer last year at Gucci Greenbelt 4 for P18,500 php.
What amazes me about this wallet is that it's also a passport holder. Plus, it has 8 card slots and tons of pockets inside. So keeping receipts and important notes are no problem.
The wallet comes in two colors: The brown one (which I have) and there is also one in white.
The material used for the wallet is the PVC or as Gucci like to call it the "GG Plus", so stains and dirt can easily be wiped off.
I personally chose the brown one because after a long time of usage, the white one will eventually be cream in color. So it's best to stay safe when it comes to the longevity of the product. Especially when it comes to the color.
Don't hesitate to comment for any questions! :)

BEATBOX: Lady GaGa Alejandro Music Video!

So last night was the world premier for Lady GaGa's newest video Alejandro. And if you've been living in a cave, probably you haven't seen it yet. Ha-Ha! Kidding aside, as a track alone, I must admit that Alejandro wasn't one of my favorite tracks from her second album The Fame Monster. However, the video totally gave me a new purpose to listen to the song. The gothic yet very artistic way on how Lady GaGa portrayed a nun was really up to par for me.

Despite the positive comments the video got from the fans (Little monsters), you can't help but to be double-sided when it comes to those things. See what Perez Hilton has to say to Katy Perry dissing on GaGa:

Log in to your Twitter account and search @katyperry. You'll see thousands of people hating on Katy Perry because of it. There are even some speculations that Ms. Perry lost 800 followers after sharing that statement. Oh well, let's all move on people! Here is Lady GaGa's newest video! Enjoy!

KYLISM: Inked!

First things first, I wanna dedicate my first post to my tattoos. I guess it really does say a lot about me which really helps you to get to know me more. Here's the photo to my tattoos (Forgive me for the poor quality) :

"Only GOD can JUDGE me"

I got that summer last year. It was to really put an end to all the rumors that were spreading around my campus before. People (and most especially "Pinoys") are really born to be very judgmental. I got that to signify that no matter what you say about me, I'll only listen to what God has to say. And FYI, I had so many positive comments about it. All of my friends seems to agree with that statement. Thanks guys! :)

"Armalite M-16"

Like Lady Gaga's Video to Paparazzi and Telephone, my second tattoo is a continuation of my first. I got it December last year. When I got my first tattoo, I really thought it would put an end to the carnage happening, but it didn't. A gun tattoo signifies survival for me. And maybe, it's a way of saying "I have survived" from everything that happened.

My friends used to ask me before, why a gun tattoo? Then I'll always say that "Can't you see, Only GOD can JUDGE me, and if they still do, I'll shoot 'em down". Some might think that tattoos are just a shallow way of showing off one's true self. Well for me, tattoos are symbols and signs that proves to people that one has gone through a lot in their lives. Many might think otherwise, but at the end of the day, you'll only really care about what you think. After all, it's your body not theirs.

PS: Both of my tattoos are done by Gene Testa. Tattoo shop is located at Robinson's Galleria.
