BEATBOX: Taylor Swift

So who has mixed reactions with Taylor Swift's songs? And choice of clothes? Let's just cut the chase, I'm not a fan of the curly locks. And if people (other than myself) hate it, it's her fault. I mean, she can always have it straightened. With all the money she has (already earned), she can have it straightened permanently for all we know. HAHA. Maybe it's just my preference. It greatly shows maturity.

I think the first time I saw her with straight hair was in her music video for You Belong With Me. And I was shocked! I loved it. Sad thing is, she doesn't really go out with straight hair.. especially going to the red carpet. Except for this!! :

Taylor Swift attended the 2010 AMA's wearing this Collette Dinnigan Rhinestone Dress. Paired it up with some Jimmy Choo strappy heels and Lorraine Schwartz black cocktail ring on her left hand index finger (which we cannot see in this photo.)

Our dear little Ms. Swift is growing up right before our very eyes. :)
I personally loved this whole ensemble! From the hair, right down to the shoes. Everything was flawless. I also love how her make-up just looks nude. And they edged her up a notch by adding dark shades for her eyes. Perfection!

On her music career on the other hand, I haven't really been a Taylor Swift fan at all. I only love 2 or 3 songs from her. Why? I just find her songs so monotonous. I'm not hating, but I guess that's what happens when you write and compose you own music. You get stuck in the same melody over and over again.

However, this You Belong With Me performance by Ms. Swift is superb. She now interacts with the audiences. Lovely performance!

TRASH BIN #2

Here's a bit of a shocker. I always wanted to dedicate a post entirely for Lea Michele. Don't you ever wonder why she tries so hard to be "sexy" all the time outside of Glee? The funniest thing is that she is (in real life) the total opposite of her character in Glee. It only shows she really knows how to act. Well this post is actually a mix of both worlds. A good one and a trash(y) one.
To kick things off, here's one of her photos taken out of Marie Claire when I was searching for pictures at Google.

Here's one more:

I think she really needs to know that she's still sexy even when she's covered up. What up with the suit? Was it hot or something so she's wasn't wearing anything inside? And the skirt, she made it look trashy by just pulling the dress up a little when it was (supposed to be) a tribute to Audrey Hepburn.

One more:

Big thanks to E! for the photo.

I personally find this gown OK. But I would've loved it more if it was longer. (Floor length). Plus, what's with the loose peep-toe pumps? You can really see the "gap" at the back of it. HAHA. It's obviously too big for her. But she has some good ones too. Like this Oscar De la Renta navy blue gown she wore at the 2010 Emmy's:

She added some sparkle with a Lorraine Schwartz necklace... and that gave it a home run.

TRASH BIN #1

Another added section to my blog. YES! HAHA. And just as the name implies, in here are all the "trash" for me. Either about fashion or music.

Okay so here's the deal, I never fail to visit Lookbook everyday to get some inspiration on what to wear. I admire probably 75% of photos there, but some of it are just trash for me. I know this post might have mixed feedbacks but I don't care. I just really wanna share this photo to you guys:

Well of course I did something to his face so people (who know him) wouldn't recognize who he is. I'm doing this purely because I don't think this photo does justice for Lookbook at all. Why even take this picture? TRASH. And just when I thought that the lack of shoes is enough to turn heads, when I looked closer..... Electrical/extension cords are also visible. Was it left there on purpose or did you just forgot to plug it out? Whatever the case, lights out on your productions chum.

KYLISM: 10 Things You Wouldn't Catch Me Wearing At The Mall (Part 2)

After the flattering comments I've received from the part one of this post, making the second part was indeed more thrilling. I just felt that my voice and thoughts were being heard in such a simple way. And I must say, posts like this energizes me. I have to think of other topics to post here. But all in due time. Anyway, here is the second part to my "10 Things You Wouldn't Catch Me Wearing At The Mall" post.

6. Faux Fur Coats

I don't know if you guys are as aware as I am, but a lot of fashion houses now has Faux fur coats for men as well. Well then of course, locally we have Zara here to help us. The reason why you wouldn't catch me wearing this is because it doesn't suit our climate. Maybe when I'm abroad...or maybe not. Ha-ha. If the coat has subtle details of "fur" then that's better on my book.

7. Under-the-butt Jeans

Okay forgive me for the title for number seven, but I just don't know what to call this kind of jeans. Maybe a low low low rise jeans? Ha-ha! One time when I was at the mall getting a tattoo, I say this guy pulling this kind of look. Well the first thing that popped into my mind was "What's so special with his boxers that he has to show them?" I'm really lost for words. Well some prefer this "style", but personally, I wouldn't wear them.

8. Loud Shirts / Jackets

Now, I have nothing against this look. Personally, I prefer basic clothes. Maybe because I prefer to be safe when it comes to my clothing options especially color wise. But some prefer this Glam-rock-ish style. And it's perfectly fine. Ed Hardy is probably their best choice. They really have nice shirts there, but so not my style.

9. Tank Tops / Muscle Tops

This is a special one cause this is an "unless" number. Ha-ha. Just recently, I have this sudden obsession with easy-to-wear clothes. And tank tops are probably one of them. I already saw of lot of designs I found interesting. However, I wouldn't wear just the tank alone when I'm out and strolling. I just don't feel like the top is enough to make it look edgy and classy at the same time...Unless you wear something over it. Like in the picture's case, a black leather jacket would totally change the overall look of this outfit. Accessorize it with some rings, wear those damn old combat boots, then finish your look with a "Bed-head" hairstyle and you're set to go!

10. Crocs

I think this is the number where a lot of you guys are guilty of. Ha-ha! Well I myself have tried this once. But I just came from school and our footwear inside the kitchen are crocs. So I had no choice! Ha-ha! I think that was a perfect excuse don't you think? Ha-ha! Personally (once again), I wouldn't wear Crocs to the mall or anywhere else (except on my case, the kitchen) because I don't think it's fashionable at all. Well I'm talking about the clogs okay? I get why a lot of people wear it-it's comfy and all... but come on, you have to sacrifice a little for fashion. Wear them when you're driving, then change them when you're malling.

Okay that was fun! What do you guys think? Enjoy the weekend dear viewers! :)

Love For Fashion And Music: KYLISM: 10 Things You Wouldn't Catch Me Wearing At The Mall (Part 1)

This is going to be a fun post. Ha-ha! I was really thinking of a fun post to celebrate my 1,000+ views here in the Philippines alone, and many more worldwide, so I came up with this. I know a lot of you haven't even seen me in real life, so here's a little sneak peak of the things you wouldn't catch me wearing at a mall. I'm going to post this for your information only. I don't intend on hurting anyone (if ever your wearing them), but this post is entirely based on my taste. Everyone has their own style on how they dress. Let's respect each others style. So, let's start!

1. Colored Lens Sunglasses

When I was younger, I really find this trend cute. I even remember Bono (from U2) wears his with confidence. But now-a-days, I can't imagine anyone wearing this. Well I don't want to be one-sided but shades should just compliment what you're wearing, not over-power it. Black, grey and brown are the most common for me. Other than those three, you wouldn't catch me wearing them.

2. Flip-flops

I think everyone has that day where they don't feel like dressing up at all! But wearing flops inside the mall is just a no-no for me. The mall is not your living room. And don't even try to wear them with skinny jeans cause it still won't work. And the harsh-est thing about this no-no is that a lot of people seems to be doing this! For guys, why not wear sneakers or a pair of gladiators? Girls? Ballet flats please. Simple adjustments can make big disasters preventable.

3. Floral Polos / Tops

God, who ever made this a trend before should just stop starting trends period. I mean it's good for girls, especially for summer. But for guys, next please. I think Lito Atienza should be accountable for this trend. Ha-ha! He made it like a "Philippine national polo" or something. But seriously, it doesn't do any guy good. Just stick to basic polos or something with a slight design on it, but not as feminine as this.

4. Baggy Jeans

After seeing the picture, need I say more? But this is an example of "My" style. I personally won't wear baggy jeans. But for some, it really looks good. And harem pants are different from "Baggy Jeans" cause harem pants are just loose on your thighs but tight on your legs.

5. Cowboy Hats

Now, I have nothing against David Beckham. But personally, I wouldn't wear cowboy hats. I'm no cowboy, and I certainly didn't grow up in like a farm environment or something like that, so I wouldn't be used to wearing hats like this. If you're living in the States this would probably be okay. But here in the Philippines, I'm not so sure. Some can pull it off, but personally, you wouldn't catch me wearing this, ever.

Well, that's the first part! The second part will be posted probably by tomorrow or the day after! What do you guys think? Are we the same in terms of style? I really want to hear from you! Thank you for your continuous visit. :)

BEATBOX: Katy Perry - Firework Live!

I must say, amongst all of Katy's live performances for Firework, this is so far the best. It sounds so close to the original record. View and enjoy dear readers!

WALK THE WALK: #2

It has been a long time since I've posted anything here. Sorry once again. Ha-ha!
This picture has been in my archives for such a long time already, and finally, I have decided to post it.
He's a friend of mine and this picture of him is just different:

Carlo Paguio
"Fashion is about courage and honesty."

Black V-neck Shirt (inner) - IZZUE
Black outer shirt - from Bangkok
Pants - Cotton On
Shoes - Converse
Scarf - Rustan's
Bag - Lacoste
Rings - Aldo Accessories

He certainly dared to be different. It's so hard for me to wear shorts or 3/4 pants (as I call it). I'm not the type who goes out wearing this. I'm just not used to the idea, but he certainly proved that comfy clothes can be fashionable too. He wore this outfit to Philippine Fashion Week, and I must say, I died for the fringe necklace. I WANT ONE!!!
